Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an Eastern medical modality that involves the insertion of ultra fine needles into specific points on the body where Qi, or life force energy travels on energetic pathways. Acupuncture points are selected based on their distinct therapeutic effects and are tailored for each individual treatment. Pain relief: Injury recovery, Back pain, Neck pain, Headaches and Migraines, Facial pain, TMJ, Muscular tension, Sprains and strains, Chronic pain, Arthritis, Sciatica, Inflammatory conditions, Osteoarthritis.

Mental/emotional health: Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, PTSD, Stress management, OCD, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia.

Womens health: Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), Dysmennorrhea and painful periods, Amenorrhea, Urinary tract infections, Infertility, Morning sickness, PCOS.

How it works

Acupuncture points connect to create energetic pathways that feed life force energy to all organ systems of the body, and create homeostasis throughout the the mind, body & spirit. When Qi is flowing smoothly and in balance, we experience health & vitality. Acupuncture works to balance Qi in the body, and ensure energy is free flowing & circulating smoothly. In western terms, acupuncture stimulates sensory receptors to signal the nervous system to release neurotransmitters and endorphins, easing pain, promoting healing, and improving immune function. Through this mechanism, acupuncture has the ability to address specific health concerns and help you achieve optimal health and wellbeing.

Your treatment

Your first visit begins with a comprehensive Eastern medical health evaluation intake and physical examination. Next, the examination of the tongue, pules, and vital signs are conducted. Acupuncture needles are inserted and retained for about 30 minutes, while the patient relaxes and takes an “acu nap.”

Needles are then removed, and future treatment plans and patient goals are discussed. A clear treatment plan will be outlined for future sessions and progress moving forward. Lifestyle recommendations and suggestions will also be presented at this time, as well as herbs & supplement suggestions that will be available for additional purchase.
